This web site is hosted by the Community Based tourism , an villager NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) committed to the
development of the hilltribes throughout the Chiang Rai Province of Northern Thailand.

Home-stay and Volunteering
There are many volunteering possibilities, depending on the characteristics and needs of the specific hilltribe village. Some villages may already have an ongoing project that it is possible to join. Though you will come as a volunteer to contribute to the community, one of the best parts is receiving all of the knowledge and love the villagers give.

Program Details
The volunteering program costs 10,000 THB (about $330 USD). This includes your accommodation and all your meals(2 week). There is an extra cost for the Traditional skills courses depending on the course chosen.

We offer two types of programs, both of which involve home-stays in hilltribe villages.
Visiting a hilltribe village is a special experience, but it may be a little different from what you're used to. There are a
fewroadbumps that may make it too unpleasant or difficult for you to go. Make sure you think the following things through first before signing up

Learning Traditional Skills
Our teachers are highly skilled villagers who rely on the knowledge passed down from generation to generation in their tribe. Courses on traditional skills are held in a laid-back environment, with students accompanying and following the teacher in their activity. In this way, students have the chance to learn at their own pace.
