2nd Day at Apa Village

After de warm welcome at my arrival, today I started to give the English classes.

Somsak, Dao en Chai are the closest persons to me. They are always busy to make me feel good and make my first days easier. I stay in Dao’s family place. She lives with her mother who is a very friendly person and always in good humor. Even if she doesn´t speak English we can communicate us by the ‘hands’ language. One of the funniest thing is that she smokes a lot of tobacco rolled it corn leeves.
They try make me feel good and get closed to me to make understand their way of life in the community.
I think they are very compromised with the development of the community. They show are strong sensibility and comprehension of their community and looks very involved and believing in their progress. More simply: they looks very happy with the project they are involved in.
Dao is very beautiful girl and her innoncence and good feeling makes her still more beautiful. Her way is very far from the feelings I am used to relate with in Spain. They remind me when I always a child and life was easy.
I have to say that the whole people and their way are very far from what I am used to in Spain. They are very compromised in their duties and you can breathe a young and pure spirit inside themselves.
The day with the children was a pleasure. I don´t look it as a job even if I do my best to make them learn but it’s a relaxing time. To me it’s a gift to see the faces of the children and see how innocence and happy they are.

Today I have started to help Chai to build the houses for the new volunteers.
Chai is an easy guy, very polite and like all the people I met in the village respectful and with good feelings. His sense of responsibility make him a great guy, the same as Dao. He shows a proactive attitude and friendly face, also his honesty and modesty makes him a beautiful boy.
In the afternoon I started also to play and to train some guys of the school soccer. Chai makes everything easy and looks after that all the exercises go well and encourage the guys to do them.
After dinner we played cards and and Dao, Chai and me had a good time. They are easy guys with good feelings and I say again that they are very far from the complicated and unhealthy relationships that I find usually in Spain.
Days passes by and I quit to write my diary. Constancy has never been one of my qualities. What I can say from these days as a suammary: people are great  but couldn’t enjoy as much as I wanted my stay. I have been alone from the 21 rst of July and I missed the contact with people. I expected to find more volunteers in the village but as I cannot speak Thai the communication with people was always hard or impossible. So most of the days I missed to spend entertainment days. I don´t care if the commodity it’s not what I am used to Spain but to me it’s very important to relate with more people. I also missed some activities to get joy because life in the village is always very quiet.
Now I am Spain I am still feeling the simplicity of the life in the village. In my heart I feel less fear, more hope when I look at the people. I think this is what I have gain in my stay at Apha.

We will meet us in a future, don´t know when. I am looking forward to know how life in the village has developed.

Kind regards

Jorge
